Unarguably Avengers: Endgame is a significant milestone in cinema history. The movie served the conclusion of the 11 years and 22 films that hold within the Marvel dynasty, but even the movie’s release was cloaked in mystery, provoking fans to wonder how the all-powerful heroes could repeal the wrath of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War which was released in 2018.
Box office records thrashed by Endgame:
As of now, it seems like the movie did not disappoint its crazed audience all over the world. Shows were full this past weekend, and the web is overwhelmed with fans and their celebrations. The movie even broke a few records within the weekend. Here’s what we know.
Some folks mocked the notion of an $800 million opening weekend.
Instead of the estimated 800$, Endgame has looted a $1.2 billion global opening which was greater than expected. This is a feat which has never been achieved by another film — ever. But the record-breaking isn’t done yet.
- Avengers: Endgame has grossed $859 million globally. This is the greatest number ever grossed in that market.
- It has also commanded over the Chinese market and became number one by acquiring a $330.5 million gross.
- In the US Endgame gained about $350 million this weekend, making it the greatest domestic opening weekend ever.
This intense record breaking stuff leaves us with only one question.
Will Endgame grow to be the highest-grossing film of all time?
James Cameroon’s Avatar earned over $2.7 billion worldwide in its run at the box-office. While, earlier, films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Endgame have registered potential through the opening phase of its release that it may claim Avatar’s No. 1 spot, but both movies ultimately disappointed. $2.7 billion is a humungous number to achieve. But with an opening gross of $1.2 billion, it appears like an achievable status.
Endgame is clearly on its way to break this record even if it didn’t it will surely take its legitimate place at the top 5 of the list.
